When Prince toured Australia in 2003, he did an interview for our version of "The Today Show" and when they tried to ask him about the days preceeding the "Controversy" era, he said, "You probably just want to stay in the now," which I thought was a bit messed up, cause the guy was only trying to ask him a simple question. So yeah, it wouldn't really surprise me if he didn't care too much about the 20 year anniversary of "Sign O' The Times." Then again, why should he when he's constantly creating new music and, as you said, changing the views of many a "Joe Six Pack," lol with his Superbowl performance.

Yes, "Guitar" was lyrically idiotic....although I must admit, the newly recorded version was musically awesome.

Again, great article. :D

Yes. It is quite silly that some people thought he sounded like a chipmunk on this track.

I even did a review on iTunes myself where I said that it marked the return of his "Camille" alter ego, hence the sped up vocals.

These folks really need to do their homework before they put a pen to paper in future....or sit behind a keyboard and type a review for that matter.

Great article though, I quite enjoyed it!

What a wonderful article.

I had known that Lisa had "left the business" after Slide but never really knew the hows or whys and what led up to it. I'd even banded up with a bunch of 4AD/Sychophant mailing listers to create a cover album but never succeeded.

Slide was truly one of my favorite Germano albums and Tchad Blake's production had always been one of my favorites (I Love a Snot).

It made no since how an album so good was not able to break through and be successful -- I had heard it was one of the least performing albums of her career, which made me really sad since it was such an incredible album and one that was truly had a healing aura about it.

Anyway, I'm glad she's continuing to produce and engineer albums and I wonder if you'd ever have the opportunity to have a follow-up interview with her.

Great stuff, thanks for re-posting it on your blog.

Can't believe Gatorland is 60 years old next year! ww.orlandotouristattractions.zoxic.com/orlando-tourist-attractions/gatorland

I thought the pretty woman outfit in the Hard Rock Cafe was really cool - didn't realise there was a Hard Rock Vault as well - really must check that out.
